Learning Styles: has gained a substantial mindshare in recent years as we have come to understand and appreciate that individuals often learn better at their own pace and in their own way ... but what does that mean?
It really means people learn what they have to know more easily than they can grasp or retain knowledge that doesn't seem important or relevant to them at the time of the training program. As obvious and true as this is made every year in high-school math classes around the world, it is particularly true for Adult Learners in the workplace. So the first lesson for Adult Learning is to "Make it Relevant & Real".
Next is determining the best way to deliver the learning, far more complicated now that we can offer seemingly invisible and painless eLearning along with all the traditional approaches. For many training companies, offering a "custom fit" approach for each individual is the current mantra, eLearning is for eLearners, Workshops are for Group Learners, Coaching programs for Special Learners. Unfortunately this approach assumes that all learning for each individual has the same importance, and that each learner is equipped to take on all learning in that one possibly customized appraoch.
Working with industry leaders to better understand when and why training has failed for individual learners, we determined that there are three critical purposes for business training programs, three principle methods for individuals to undertake those learnings, and three distinct levels of competency that the learning will fall into — which has become our acclaimed Three3 Learning Matrix. Off the shelf training that can be easily tailored and delivered to meet both the needs of the individual and the needs of your business:

A. Subject Matter:
is the learning new, updated or remedial?
B. Learning Preference:
will group, coached or self-study be best?
A. Purpose:
what level of expertise does the learner need?

Designing and delivering the right training programs can increase return on investment (ROI) in learning effectiveness by more than 300%, and help reduce annual training costs by $1,000 or more per employee.
